Introducing The Newest Bridger – Part 2

We’ve just passed the 7 month mark and are feverishly working on getting the nursey up to par for the pending baby action. Yes, the “Art Room” can now officially be called a nursery.

Here, as promised, are pictures of Alisa and the baby, getting to know one another while the babe’s still in utuero. Alisa’s being very brave in letting these pictures out on to the Internet … I just hope they don’t hurt her chances at becoming Prime Minister some day.

Below then are the pictures thus far. Each image, when clicked, will take you to a much larger version.

August 2005

At the time this picture was taken, we didn’t know Alisa was pregnant. She and her friend Liz had just finished running a half-marathon in Edmonton. However it was during this race that the clues started to pop up that Alisa was running with something a little ‘special’ that day. In fact we think she is 9 days pregnant here.

September 2005

Back in September we had this little secret with Marty and Nathalie – we were all four of us expecting babies. I’ll let you figure out who was expecting and who was actually pregnant. But to commemorate our great moment of secrecy we took a few pictures that we couldn’t share with anyone. But now the curtain has lifted. So here then is our picture from September.

December 2005

Starting in December, 2005, we are trying to take monthly pictures just to document how Alisa’s growing the healthy baby. Like a petri dish without the agar gel. Yuk yuk, science geeks should chuckle. No? Fine, here’s the picture then.

January 2006

We tried to get a few pictures in during the one or two sunny days we had in January as well. The best one actually doesn’t include Alisa’s head – it’s nothing personal, it’s art.

February 2006

This weekend we again grabbed pictures on the 25th of the month. It is nice to see the days getting longer but we still had to rush to try to get some natural light – the flash was still needed. So here then is February’s version.Alisa in February 2006

March 2006

Right on schedule (well, not really), this picture is from the 27th of March. It was hastily taken early in the morning before heading off to work, so please forgive the lack of ‘je ne sais quoi’ in the image. As you can obviously see, Alisa’s doing fabulously. She’s also at the point where her new dimensions are causing some pain and ‘bumpage with random objects’. So thanks Susy for helping out on that massage front. I can only do so much, and I am sure you do it so much better than I do. But I try (perhaps not often enough depending on who you talk to).

April 2006

Wow are we getting close. This picture was taken a day late – April 26th. At this point we’re just biding our time – this little ‘event’ could start at any moment. Every time I leave my desk at work I come back and carefully check to make sure I didn’t miss a call while away from the phone. I mean, really, ANY MINUTE.Alisa in April 2006

  1. YAY Alisa!

You’re a brave, brave woman! You and Kirk did a beautiful job with these shots and I truly appreciate the ability to watch you grow from afar. Wish we could be closer but I really enjoyed our little visit in Mexico.

Hugs to all three of you, Krista

  2. Alisa & Kirk,
I agree with Krista, you are a brave woman. The pictures are fantastic and glow just like you do. It is great how technology allows us to participate. Back in our grand parents days, the thought of even discussing “with child” was not spoken. How times have changed. Thanks for including your family and friends. I look forward to the birth of your child.
    With all the best always,
    Kandas

  3. Hey Kirk and Alisa
These pictures are fantastic. It has been a privilege and honour to massage Alisa throughout the pregnancy. You have done a great job of looking after baby from day one. Can’t wait to meet the little “addition”
    Susy
